As a young adult or even as an older adult while devoting my time to family and the business world, it never occurred to me that I should put my life story out there for all to read. The thought never entered my mind. I remember the first time I gave it any thought was in December of 2000, right after I had turned the key on my auction house property and let 26 employees go home. Pamela A. Brooks, who wrote freelance articles for the Post Star, came to me to do a story about the business being closed up and suggested she could ghost write my life story.
I never gave it another thought for 20 years or so but in the past 5 or 6 years, during everyday conversations with folks, every once in a while someone would say to me “you should write a book”. I just tucked the thought of doing so, away as maybe when I retire and am looking for something to fill my days.
Then in March of 2022, my transition from businessman to retirement happened. I found myself with time to do exactly what I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it. I decided it was a good time to respond to the suggestions of the past, so I started to post on Facebook old historical photos of our local area.
